Dreary Day in October

Usually we have really lovely weather in Texas in October but today was not one of those kind of days. It wasn't cold but it was a grey day with clouds all day long and a day when you just felt like doing nothing. So that's basically what I did.

I went out in the yard but it looked pretty dreary out there too except for the lovely purple and mauve flowers . It seems so many of the flowers that bloom here at this time of year are either purple or a variation of mauve. Yes we have some yellow and red lantana that were late bloomers this year but the purple ones are the most prolific.

Purple is a very somber color I find.Does nothing to cheer you up.
