Another
Creepy Creature
It
must be the weather and the darker days but the weird and wacky
creatures are appearing all over the place in our yard.
The
grasshoppers did a fine job this summer at eating most of the leaves
on our rose bushes . The big grasshoppers almost 3 inches long are
finishing off all the smaller ones. Its really a lovely sight seeing
a grasshopper eating another,UGH Talk about survival of the fittest!
Now
this lovely spider is helping to finish the roses off by spinning
huge webs between the stalks that are left. He is making good catches
for his dinner as well . I have seen grasshoppers being wound tightly
in silk and then other spiders and flies waiting to be eaten.
They
are magnificent creatures but I certainly wouldn't want o meet one if
they were 20 times bigger.

took this lovely photo and it was just as well for if it rains like
it is supposed to I think the web and spider will soon be gone and
the roses will stand a chance.
Yo certainly seem to be having a. huge amount of critters in that garden of yours,,they must know it's
ReplyDeletetime to stock up for winter. We still can't complain our weather going to be 18 degrees, nice an sunny
at the moment too. We are just on the way out to Round the Bend Farm to pick up the turkey and
veg, not into pumpkins pie so I am doing a traditional apple pie for a change.
